Teaching farm

We organise courses that are geared towards people of all ages and are particularly suitable for families with children.
The courses cover three inter-related themes: natural history, agriculture and food.
Natural history
- The path through the woods: how to recognise different wood species; the ecological role of woodlands; woodland animals; the resources that woodlands provide.
- The field and the flowers of spring: wild flora; recognising edible flowers and herbs.
Agriculture
- The organic farm: the organic management of the farm; the four seasons; useful and harmful insects; recognising fruit trees; the importance of water.
Food
- The bread production path: how is sourdough made? The role of bread in the rural tradition; bread accompaniments.
- Eggs and flour: two simple but versatile foods; how tagliatelle and traditional soups are made.
- Jams: how jams are made, starting from fresh fruit.
All of the courses can be adapted to suit children and to meet any other requirements of teachers or parents.
We have a room that can be used for workshop activities, and for games if the weather outside is bad.
